To revise definitions and other details in a law that gives crime victims the right to make a statement in court about the crime’s impact on their lives, so as to accommodate the proposal in House Bill 5816 to allow these statements to be made by family members, and let them cover the more expansive ground of “the course of the defendant’s conduct”.
