To revise the “affidavit of identity” that candidates for state and local offices must file. The bill would eliminate a requirement that a candidate disclose the number of years of residence in the state and county, and add a statement that the candidate meets the constitutional and statutory qualifications for the office sought. The bill would also delete requirement that the candidate state whether or not he or she is using the name the individual was given at birth.
