To increase the penalties for violation a state law regulating commercial telephone solicitations that authorized a state “do not call” list. The bill would authorize a process by which callers receiving notification to not call a particular number would incur damage penalties each time they did so. Note: At the time the bill was introduced state officials appear to have no way to effectively enforce this law, and the Federal Communications Commission is also struggling to find way.
