2019 House Bill 4200

Revise “gun free zone” concealed pistol penalty

Introduced in the House

Feb. 19, 2019

Introduced by Rep. Gary Eisen (R-81)

To change the penalties authorized for violation of the “gun free zone” provision of the concealed pistol permit law. The current law authorizes a six-month license suspension and $500 fine for a first offense, a year in prison and $1,000 for a second offense, and up to four years in prison and $5,000 fine for subsequent offenses. The bill would replace all this with a $100 fine and no license suspension for first and subsequent violations.
