To replace the current tiered vehicle registration tax fee schedule with a flatter per-vehicle tax. For cars 5 years old the tax would be $160 per year, and $140 for cars 6 to 10 years old, $115 for cars 11 to 15 years old, and $82 for all others, with periodic inflation increases. This would not affect the fee schedule for commercial and heavy trucks.
