Ban naming roads after politicians

To limit the practice of giving honorary road designations to certain road segments. The bill would allow an honorary designation only for fallen police, firefighters, emergency personnel, correction officers or military service members. The bill would also require a private party to have paid $3,000 to an account used to pay for erecting and maintaining related signs. As of the day this bill was introduced <a href="https://www.michiganvotes.org/SearchLegislation.aspx?Keywords=honorary&x=0&y=0">19 such bills</a> had been introduced in 2019, at least three of which designated politicians.
