The non-education portion of the executive budget recommendation proposed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1, 2019. This would appropriate $42.700 billion, of which $21.252 billion is federal money and $21.448 billion comes from state tax and fee payers. Senate Bill Bill 206, the Governor’s omnibus education budget proposal, would spend another $17.504 billion, of which $1.873 billion is federal money. Altogether, the two budgets propose spending $60.204 billion during the next fiscal year, of which $37.078 would come from state taxes and fees.
