To eliminate an “environmental rules special review committee” created by <a href="https://www.michiganvotes.org/2017-SB-652">a 2018 law</a> to oversee and make judgments on whether new rules promulgated by state environmental regulators meet specified criteria including reasonableness. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer earlier tried to eliminate this committee by executive order but changed course when the Republican legislature objected.
