To allow a licensed “group child care home” that is currently permitted to take care of up to 12 minor children before or after school may receive up to five more school-aged children; and allow a licensed family child care home permitted to take care of up to six minor children before or after school to receive up to three more school-aged children. House Bill 5977 gives these operations 90 days to adhere to the new rules.

To allow a licensed “group child care home” that is currently permitted to take care of up to 12 minor children, and a licensed family child care home permitted to take care of up to six children, to accept an additional two children for care before and after school, defined as between 5 and 9 a.m. and from 2:30 to 6 p.m. A facility would have to get state permission first though.
