Define “speedy trial” in statute

To get specific with the definition of “speedy trial” in criminal law. Specifically, the bill would require that a person in jail awaiting trial for a misdemeanor must be brought to trial within seven days of being is taken into custody, and 90 days for felonies. If the person is not in jail he or she could demand and get a trial within 90 days of the request for misdemeanors, and 180 days for felonies.
