To place in state statute the authority and limits of the Department of Natural Resources to enter and search private property. The bill limits this power to a “peace officer or park and recreation officer,” and allows it only with a warrant, when in hot pursuit of a suspect, or if the officer “reasonably believes” a delay would mean “evidence of a crime will be destroyed or concealed or an individual will be endangered”.
