To revise the state minimum wage law by adding the same ban on certain types of discrimination that are specified in the state Civil Rights law (religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, or marital status), applied explicitly to wage differentials. Specifically, the bill would ban wage differentials in a workplace that are not based on a “bona fide, job-related factor, such as job-related education, training, experience, or market conditions.” This is part of a Democratic pay equity package comprised of House Bills 4576 to 4687.
