To require a “emergency motions” by criminal defendants to get a hearing within 24 hours. The bill would define these as “a motion that is filed by the defendant alleging…deprivation of liberty, a constitutional violation including due process or a cruel and unusual punishment violations, and a matter that would result in irreparable harm to the defendant if not heard on an emergency basis”.
