To adopt a legislative “declaration” that “ the new moon day on the eighth lunar month, according to the Indic pur?imanta lunisolar calendar, shall be known as ‘Diwali’, ‘Deepavali’, or the ‘Festival of Lights’, a holiday celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs”.
