To prohibit auto insurers from basing the price of a policy on any factor except the insured's driving safety record, the number of miles driven annually, and years of driving experience. The bill would prohibit using currently allowed factor such as the number of claims on record in the area where an insured vehicle is garaged; whether the vehicle is used for business or personal use; the number of vehicles the insured person has covered; the amount of insurance; the income of the insured person; the number of dependents covered under the policy; the vehicle make and model; and more. Essentially, auto insurance companies would have to set rates almost exclusively on the driving record of the insured person.
