To require the state Department of Technology, Management and Budget to follow the standard public procurement process as provided current law to contract with authorized vehicle storage and towing operations on behalf of the State Police in each jurisdiction within the state. The bill amends a law that already prohibits local governments from maintaining their own vehicle storage facility or towing operation, which also bans them from accepting any financial or other consideration from a private motor vehicle storage facility.
