To essentially re-write the state Open Meetings Act, revising many of the requirements and rules for meetings of public bodies that are prescribed by this law. Among the provisions are changes in the rules allowing public bodies to have “closed sessions” for various reasons, including property sales, public school student suspensions, and others. The bill also appears to greatly expand the authority of public bodies to hold their meetings remotely over the internet.
