To place before voters a proposal to repeal the “Michigan Civil Rights Initiative," now Article 26 of the state Constitution, approved by a 58-42 vote of the people in 2006, which makes it unlawful for the state, local governments, state colleges and universities to “grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting”.
