To revise child placement provisions in the foster care and adoption services law, by establishing that if a child is removed from his or her home, the agency in charge must within 30 days identify, locate, notify, and consult with relatives, with the goal of seeking to place the child with a fit and appropriate relative who meets the standards and is related within the fifth degree by blood, marriage, or adoption.
