A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding sections 5135 and 5135a.

House Bill 4167 would create a new advisory council to advise the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and state agencies on research, diagnosis, and treatment efforts related to rare diseases in Michigan; establish the composition of the council; provide authority to the council for certain tasks; and require the council to fulfill certain duties, including an annual report to the legislature on its activities, findings, and recommendations.
