An act to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “An act to protect the environment and natural resources of the state; to codify, revise, consolidate, and classify laws relating to the environment and natural resources of the state; to regulate the discharge of certain substances into the environment; to regulate the use of certain lands, waters, and other natural resources of the state; to protect the people’s right to hunt and fish; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local agencies and officials; to provide for certain charges, fees, assessments, and donations; to provide certain appropriations; to prescribe penalties and provide remedies; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,” by amending section 80312 (MCL 324.80312), as amended by 2000 PA 65.

House Fiscal Agency Analysis

House Bills 4417 and 4419 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code and the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, respectively, to increase the total value of vehicles or watercraft for which a surviving spouse or an heir may apply to transfer title, if otherwise appropriate, and to require the new amount to be adjusted annually for inflation. House Bill 4418 would amend the Michigan Uniform Transfers to Minors Act to increase the total value of property that may be transferred to a minor, or to a person nominated as a custodian for the minor, that would not have to be authorized by a court.
