A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled “Michigan vehicle code,” by amending section 625 (MCL 257.625), as amended by 2021 PA 85.
The bill prohibits driving on public roads or areas accessible to motor vehicles in Michigan under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or other intoxicating substances, including those recognized in official pharmacopeias or used in a manner resulting in intoxication. It sets the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) levels at 0.08 grams, increasing to 0.10 grams five years after a state treasurer's certification, with a higher threshold of 0.17 grams for more severe offenses.
