A bill to amend 2006 PA 110, entitled “Michigan zoning enabling act,” by amending section 204 (MCL 125.3204).
Firstly, the bill mandates that zoning ordinances must permit the use of single-family residences for home occupations that involve teaching crafts or fine arts. Secondly, it allows the rearing of egg-laying hens on properties of at least 1/4 acre, with a limit of up to 5 hens per 1/4 acre or a total of 25 hens, whichever is less, without requiring special land use approval.
