A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled “Michigan campaign finance act,” (MCL 169.201 to 169.282) by adding section 54a.
Consolidates all contributions made by political or independent committees established by any labor organization into being considered as made by a single independent committee for contribution limitations. It specifies that labor organizations can contribute to ballot question committees or make independent expenditures under certain conditions without being classified as a committee, provided they do not solicit or receive contributions over $500 for this purpose.
