A bill to facilitate access to state services by individuals with limited English proficiency; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state governmental officers and entities; and to provide for biennial reports concerning equal language access.

House Fiscal Agency Analysis

House Bill 4721 would require state departments, agencies, and entities to take reasonable steps to provide individuals with limited English proficiency with access to state services and require biennial reports on equal language access. House Bill 4720 would provide for statewide coordination of equal access to state services by individuals with limited English proficiency and create a process for submitting complaints and obtaining remedies for lack of equal language access or denial of equal access based on national origin.
