A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “Natural resources and environmental protection act,” (MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 8307g.
Prohibits the use of neonicotinoid pesticides on public land starting one year after its enactment, except under specific conditions of a valid environmental emergency where no effective alternative exists. Additionally, the bill mandates a report within one year on the safety of outdoor neonicotinoid pesticide use concerning monarch butterflies, other pollinators, beneficial insects, the environment, and public health.
