A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled “Michigan consumer protection act,” by amending section 4 (MCL 445.904), as amended by 2014 PA 251.
Clarifies that the Michigan Consumer Protection Act does not apply to certain actions by media entities in the dissemination of advertisements unless there is knowledge or a reasonable expectation of the advertisement's deceptive nature or a direct financial interest in the advertised product or service.
