A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled “Michigan election law,” (MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 515a.
Mandates that, within 90 days following each federal decennial census, the Secretary of State must mail to every registered voter in Michigan a postage prepaid and preaddressed return card for address verification, along with a notice of all available methods for updating their address information. While returning the provided card is not mandatory, voters are required to update their address with the Secretary of State or their local city or township clerk if it has changed.
