A bill to amend 1976 PA 453, entitled “Elliott-Larsen civil rights act,” (MCL 37.2101 to 37.2804) by adding section 202b.
Restricts employers from making agreements with employees or former employees that prevent them from disclosing violations or suspected violations of the act. However, such agreements are permissible under certain conditions, including written notification to the employee about the prohibition and their right to legal counsel, a grace period for the employee to seek an attorney, and the release of the employee's claim regarding a violation. Agreements made in violation of this section would be considered void.
