A bill to amend 1895 PA 3, entitled “The general law village act,” (MCL 61.1 to 74.25) by adding section 5b to chapter II.
Limits the terms of office for elected village officers in Michigan. To initiate this change, a petition requiring signatures from at least 10% of the village's registered electors must be filed. The proposed limits are a maximum of four terms for offices with a 2-year term and two terms for offices with a 4-year term.
