A bill to limit the termination of the employment of legislative staffers who work directly for members of the legislature.
Restricts the termination of legislative staffers who work directly for members of the Michigan legislature. According to the bill, such staffers can only be fired by the legislator they work for, not by leadership figures in either the majority or minority caucuses. However, exceptions are made for staffers convicted of a felony or crimes involving moral turpitude, such as dishonesty, fraud, sexual assault, or assault.
