A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” by amending section 1311e (MCL 380.1311e), as amended by 2009 PA 205.
Requires strict discipline academies to include the name of the authorizer and educational management organization on the school's signage, promotional materials, website, and application for enrollment. It places a reporting requirement on these public school academies that's not required of conventional public schools. All public schools, regardless of the type, should be held to the same standards and transparency requirements.
