A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 2670.
Prohibits pathogen enhancement engineering or research. Violation of this prohibition is classified as a felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $100,000, or both. Additionally, the bills proposes a $50,000 reward for individuals who report violations leading to the discovery of such prohibited activities.
