A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled “Michigan campaign finance act,” by amending section 44 (MCL 169.244), as amended by 2017 PA 119.
Prohibits individuals from making contributions to another person with the intention of having those contributions transferred to a specific candidate committee. It also restricts candidate committees from making expenditures or disbursements that do not directly support the nomination or election of their candidate, including making contributions or independent expenditures on behalf of another candidate committee, with an exception for purchasing tickets to fundraising events under certain conditions.
