A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 17773.
Allows pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to refuse to perform, participate in, or allow abortions to be performed on pharmacy premises based on professional, ethical, moral, or religious grounds. The bill provides immunity from civil or criminal liability or penalties for such refusals. It also protects these professionals from liability for damages, disciplinary actions, or discriminatory actions resulting from their refusal to participate in abortion-related activities.
