Transportation: carriers; motor bus transportation act; modify the display of identification requirements.

An act to amend 1982 PA 432, entitled “An act to regulate persons who transport passengers by motor bus; to prescribe powers and duties for the state transportation department; to impose certain fees; to impose penalties; and to repeal acts and parts of acts,” by amending section 15 (MCL 474.115), as amended by 2016 PA 349.

House Fiscal Agency Analysis

Senate Bill 251 would amend the Motor Bus Transportation Act to remove a requirement that each bus in a motor carrier’s roster must display the carrier’s primary phone number on both sides of the bus. The bill also would delete an exception from this requirement for school buses.
