A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled “Michigan consumer protection act,” by amending section 3 (MCL 445.903), as amended by 2022 PA 152.
The bill aims to address a broader spectrum of unfair, unconscionable, or deceptive practices, including but not limited to, the failure to disclose material facts misleading to consumers, engaging in transactions that waive consumer rights without explicit consumer consent, not promptly restoring payments or property upon transaction cancellation, and exploiting consumers' inability to protect their interests due to disability, illiteracy, or language barriers.
