A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled “Occupational code,” by amending sections 1801, 1806a, and 1810 (MCL 339.1801, 339.1806a, and 339.1810), sections 1801 and 1810 as amended by 2020 PA 265 and section 1806a as added by 2013 PA 77, and by adding section 1809c.
Refines industry definitions and regulations, covering business entities, cemeteries, crematories, funeral establishments, and practices such as embalming and funeral directing. It introduces a courtesy license for mortuary science practitioners from Indiana, Ohio, or Wisconsin to perform services in Michigan under certain restrictions.
