A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding sections 2468, 2468a, 20195, and 20195a.
Mandates the creation of violence prevention committees, consisting mainly of direct patient care employees, within local health departments and health facilities or agencies. These committees are responsible for developing, maintaining, and annually reviewing a violence prevention plan that includes risk assessments and strategies for reporting and responding to violence, emphasizing facility layout, communication devices, surrounding area crime rates, staffing, and patient needs.
