A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 2670.
Prohibits any form of pathogen enhancement engineering or research, defining such activities as felonies punishable by up to 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $100,000, or both. Additionally, it establishes a reward of $50,000 for individuals who report violations leading to the discovery of such prohibited activities.
