The legislation amends the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to regulate commercial fishing in Michigan, defining key terms, outlining the DNR's powers, specifying licensing requirements and fees, setting prohibitions and mesh size regulations for fishing nets, and establishing significant changes to existing laws, including a deadline for prohibiting commercial fishing in Saginaw Bay by January 1, 2027.
