A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled “The code of criminal procedure,” (MCL 760.1 to 777.69) by adding sections 12a, 12b, and 12c to chapter IX.
The bill enhances penalties for certain felonies committed by individuals who have unlawfully reentered the U.S. after deportation and for crimes benefiting transnational crime organizations, while also establishing procedural requirements for seeking and challenging these enhanced sentences.
