A bill to require certain employers to post information related to services for veterans; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state governmental offices and entities.
House Bill No. 5736 mandates that employers with 50 or more employees must display a poster at their place of business in a location easily accessible to employees and must include information on a variety of services available to veterans. These services include contact information for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, resources for substance abuse and mental health treatment, education and job training, tax benefits, veteran designation on state IDs, eligibility for unemployment benefits, and legal services. The Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, in collaboration with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, is tasked with creating and distributing these posters to the relevant employers. This bill is referred to as the "veteran's employee resource notification act."
