A bill to amend 1971 PA 79, entitled “Age of majority act of 1971,” by amending sections 2 and 3 (MCL 722.52 and 722.53), section 2 as amended by 1990 PA 104 and section 3 as amended by 2022 PA 170.
The bill amends the Age of Majority Act to affirm that individuals 18 and older are adults with full legal rights and responsibilities, allows courts to order support payments for them, and supersedes laws differentiating between those aged 18-20 and 21, except for the Youth Nicotine and Tobacco Act.
