A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled “Mental health code,” by amending section 602 (MCL 330.1602), as amended by 1995 PA 290.
The bill amends the Mental Health Code to ensure guardianship for individuals with developmental disabilities is used only when necessary, promoting independence and considering less restrictive alternatives before appointing a guardian.
