Additionally, $100,000,000 from the general fund is allocated for one-time bonus payments of $10,000 to teachers who meet certain qualifications. To be eligible, teachers must have received a rating of "highly effective" or "effective" on their most recent evaluation and be employed by a district with either a high percentage of economically disadvantaged pupils or a significant teacher vacancy rate. The Department of Education is responsible for disbursing these bonus payments, and if funds are insufficient, the payments will be prorated. The bill also stipulates that any unexpended general fund allocations by the end of the fiscal year will be transferred to the school aid stabilization fund.
