A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “Natural resources and environmental protection act,” by amending section 61508 (MCL 324.61508), as added by 1995 PA 57, and by adding section 503d.
Information gained on presence of oil, gas, and/or mineral deposits on DNR land is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act for two years. If a lease for the development of those resources is obtained, the exemption remains until the duration of the lease ends.
