A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “Natural resources and environmental protection act,” (MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 3115b.
The legislation requires that if Oakland County violates its discharge permit for sewer wastewater flowing into Macomb County and eventually into Lake St. Clair, then it must submit and implement a reduction plan, with potential fines of $1 million for non-compliance, and directs recovered fines to a state pollution control fund.
