SB 49 updates Michigan's workplace safety laws to align with federal standards, consolidates enforcement, mandates compliance with safety regulations, introduces penalties for violations, and enhances education and training programs, funded by employer assessments while SB 50 adjusts the criminal code to reflect the enhanced fines.
