2002 Senate Bill 1100 ↩
House Roll Call 277:
Passed
The House version of the FY 2002-2003 Community Colleges budget. This appropriates $321.7 million in adjusted gross spending (funded from all sources, including special state restricted fund and federal pass-through dollars, minus interdepartmental transfers), compared to $324.6 million, which was the FY 2001-2002 amount enacted in 2001, excluding any supplemental appropriations. Of this, $319.7 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the current year’s $319.6 million. $315.5 million is for community college operations in FY 2002-2003. The budget also includes current year funding for final design and construction authorization of a $21.2 million addition to the Art and Design studio building at Northern Michigan University, and $15.7 million for conversion of the Hedgecock Physical Education building into a Student Services building at that school; a new $16.3 million, 75,233 square-foot facility for the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Culinary Arts, Fresh Water Studies, and Lifelong Learning Center programs at Northwestern Michigan College; and a $2.5 million addition and renovation project on the existing Instructional Resource Center at Southwestern Michigan College.
